OHS - Information


Founded in 1977, the Ormond Historical Society is dedicated to promoting  an interest in history, both National and Local.  Based in Nenagh, capital of the ancient Barony of Ormond, the Society organizes a programme of lectures / historical site visits of interest to members. Lectures usually take place on the first Monday of the month  & run from November to April. Four field trips to places of historic interest take place during the months May through to September.
Montly lectures are free to society members and are open to the public at an admission of €5.
The AGM of the Society takes place every October and a committee is elected at the AGM to run the affairs of the Society for the following year. Committee members for 2015/2016 are :
